I admit it. I have started my own Hermès box collection. All the Hermès boxes I have are much too small to hold anything as precious as their predecessor, like a treasured bracelet I received from mon mari in a few weeping moments before I shipped off at Charles de Gaulle for the first time. But I treasure these little parcels because they are a fragment of timeless beauty and uncompromising luxury.

I know this is ancient history; so three weeks ago! But I just had to share a peek inside Radin Chic. One of the trickiest things about working with watercolors for me (other than the threat of constant smudging and the dangers of placing a 2-liter bowl of watercolor water next to a MacBook Pro!) is creating a sense of depth. That’s partially the reason why I started experimenting with collage. I act more impulsively cutting paper than hemming and hawing over a sketch with an overly anxious eraser in my hand. Starting with collage, watercolor adds just the right amount of detail and definition.

“It’s pumpkin season. I can’t wait for sweater-flavored everything!” I cannot recall which Facebook friend plumed these poetic words which I attempted to like twice. With another bare-legged Fashion Week behind us, I propose a little giveaway to launch further into my favorite season.
To win this signed, original watercolor collage (18 by 24 cm, grass not included), follow a few simple steps:
1.) If you haven’t already, like thefrancofly on Facebook.
2.) Share thefrancofly on your Facebook wall.
3.) Comment below telling me you have done all the above, along with your favorite fall pastime.
One lucky winner will be chosen at random on October 10th, 2013. The watercolor will be shipped anywhere in the world. Good luck!
*****Congrats Vesna! You are the winner. Please send me your mailing address at thefrancofly@gmail.com and I will send you the illustration ASAP. Thanks to all who played.

Yes, white asparagus. So two months ago! Just like asperges blanches, I’ve been hors saison for some time now. But I am happy to report I am finally shedding my hoodie, taking my coffee iced and walking to the beat of Get Lucky. I’ll be unplugged for the next few weeks, seizing the sunshine and trying to kick my resemblance to Blanche Neige. Here goes! Happy Summer, everybody. Anxious for more francofly fun? Drop by my newly update Pinterest page!
