French Christmas ABCs

Greetings from Nice!  No balls are hanging.  No children are laughing.  It’s just me, mon mari, and my Jewish in-laws.  But no worries, our Christmas table will be filled with all the same indulgences of any other French table this time of year.  Here is a roundup, A-E.  I could take it all the way to zed, but have promised to unwind and unplug this holiday season.

“Christmas is just so commercial.  We don’t need all of that stuff.”  “Yeah, but just a little bit.”  I grew up in the ’80s and the ’90s.  Even if times were hard for both my parents and Santa Claus, there were always an abundance of presents swallowing the Christmas tree.
